Not Tendering Napoli Could be a Mistake

The Texas Rangers declined to offer catcher Mike Napoli a qualifying free agent offer of $13.3 million, which would of allowed the Rangers to receive a draft pick compensation if he left in free agency.

Texas Rangers Makes Staff Changes for 2013

So far this off-season, the Texas Rangers have made changes to the 2013 staff in order to build upon the disappointing end to the 2012 season and maximize 40-man Roster’s talent.  The best move is the fact that the Rangers have kept pitching coach Mike Maddux for another year, and the second best move will be the hire of Dave Magadan as the hitting coach to replace Scott Coolbaugh.  The final move has been flip flopping base coaches, with Dave Anderson moving to First and Gary Pettis going to Third. Rangers Wild Card Roster 2012

Texas Rangers go pitcher heavy on their Wild Card Roster, however starter Ryan Dempster does not make the first game, because  having just pitched on Wednesday he would not be available.  For the bench the Rangers go 3 deep at catchers most likely so Mike Napoli  can DH. Holland Holds the Angels to 7 and Captures the Win

After battling back from giving up a 4 run first, Derek Holland was able to pitch 6 2/3 innings and came away with a win even though he gave up 7 runs. Holland was able to get the win because of the offense explosion with Mike Napoli having a 2 home run, 3 hit game. [Read more…]

Say it ain’t so Joe, Nathan Loses Game in 9th

After taking the lead in the 3rd, the Texas Rangers were unable close the game when Closer Joe Nathan gave up 2 runs in the 9th and costing Yu Darvish his 17th win.  With the win, the Angels were able to stay in the Wildcard race after seeing Saturday’s game get rained out and taking a 2-0 series lead. A’s Enjoy Win vs the Perez Dispenser

Rangers Fall to As in the 10th
