Dallas Cowboys 2018 Free Agents

​As the Cowboys prepare for the offseason, they have 15 free agents with 5 being restricted rights. The main priority will be DeMarcus Lawrence after his breakout year, followed by Anthony Hitchens and Jonathan Cooper as potential startes that may leave in free agency.

​Keepers:

  • ​DeMarcus Lawrence - Need to keep "War Daddies" when you find them, must likely will be franchise unless they can work a deal
  • David Irving - Will be given atleast a 2nd Round Restricted Grade. Could be traded.
  • LP Ladouceur - Keeping the Special teams in tact will keep that phase of football strong.

Goners:​

  • Jonathan Cooper - After a rebound year he might receive a contract offer the Cowboys can't match
  • Brice Butler - After not getting enough targets and only wanted to come back if he is a starter he is gone.
  • Alfred Morris - Will most likely go where he can get more carries.

The rest will depend upon price and the draft. Anthony Hitchens is a strong piece to the defense but may receive a strong offer.

Cowboys Claim OT Jordan Mills off Waivers

The Dallas Cowboys have claimed OT Jordan Mills off of waivers from the Chicago Bears to solidify the swing tackle position after Darrion Weems did not lock down the position after Jeremy Parnell left in free agency.

The Cowboys released LB Jasper Brinkley to make room for Mills. The Cowboys went heavy with 7 in the initial cut down.

Cowboys begin to add to Practice Squad

The Dallas Cowboys have begun to piece together their 2015 Practice Squad of 10 players, and the first one confirmed was RB Gus Johnson. The Cowboys have also added quarterback Jameill Showers and safety Tim Scott as we have seen their tweets expressing their happiness.

 

 

It is also being reported that though they cleared waivers, 2014 draft pick DE Ben Gardner and 2015 draft pick OT Laurence Gibson were not planned to be retained and was signed by Kansas City Chiefs.

The Cowboys have added OT John Wetzel, LB Dakorey Johnson and QB Kellen Moore.
