Rangers Fall to As in the 10th

September 26, 2012 by DSN Leave a Comment

In a bid to lock up a playoff position with a win against the A’s, the Texas Rangers failed to keep a 1st inning 2-0 lead and ended up losing the game in the 10th. Starter Scott Feldman gave up a lead and could find his best pitches as he made a spot start for scratched Yu Darvish.Tonight’s game continued the intense game play that is defining this series as the A’s try to prevent the Rangers from capturing the AL West crown as well as solidifying their own playoff positioning. This was a game of pitching as both teams struggle to capitalize on mistakes and bring in runs throughout the middle innings.

The loss game down to Rangers losing focus, from Andrus getting caught stealing in the 6th, to Andrus not being able to deliver a hit in the 7th with the bases loaded and two outs.  The Rangers also seemed to lose their plate patience at the plate as 3 of their last 6 outs were players being struck out swinging.

For Wednesday game, the Rangers will need a strong outing from their starter LHP Martin Perez (1-2, 3.78) vs. RHP Jarrod Parker (11-8, 3.40) because over the past two nights the bullpen has been taxed by short starts as well as Darvish being scratched from tonight’s game.
